KAREN'S STORY

My love for the countryside and animals first began on the small farm on the outskirts of North Bay, Ontario where I was raised. One of my earliest memories as a child was naming our farm’s calves – and my habit of fondly naming each one “Chester”. Little did I know, Chester would stay with me throughout my life and career.

I subsequently moved away from North Bay to Toronto and started a career in Information Technology Computer Systems, which was very rewarding. During that time, I became a mother to my two beautiful daughters and, of course, everything changed. I had always wanted my children to experience growing up in the country as I did, so a location and career change were in order.

I have always appreciated a close-knit community, which is why moving to Mono, Ontario was an easy choice for me. While building my new home in Mono, I became friends with someone who was working for a new home builder, and she offered me a position where I learned all the ins and outs of the new home development process. This is where I first fell in love with real estate and when I chose to become a real estate agent.

My family and I have since moved to Orangeville and we are so happy to be a part of this community. It is a warm and welcoming town, and I am very proud to call it home.

ARDEN'S STORY

I had the pleasure of growing up in both Mono and Orangeville, Ontario. I spent my childhood attending Mono Amaranth Public School, hiking Mono Cliffs, skating and tobogganing at Mono Centre, swimming in Smiths Falls, petting the nearby horses, and climbing on hay bales in my backyard. When I reached high school, my family moved to Orangeville. I spent my adolescent years going to Northmen Lacrosse games, tobogganing down Murrays Mountain, working at Montanas, playing for the Orangeville Rep Soccer Team, and attending Orangeville District Secondary School.

After high school, I moved to Waterloo to attend Wilfrid Laurier University. I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Communication Studies, and a Minor in Psychology and Women Studies. As much as I loved Waterloo, I missed home more. I came back to refuel my bank account and to travel. I worked at Montanas in Orangeville for 13 years. Here is where I developed a deep passion for serving and engaging people. I loved the environment, especially making connections with customers and making deep friendships with my co-workers. Growing up with my mom as a Real Estate Agent, I saw the passion she had for people too. I have always appreciated my mom’s drive, her work ethic, her compassion and resilience. I wanted to be able to better help people and serve my community, so I decided to begin my journey into Real Estate with her.

I knew with my background in Communications I could be an essential part of McGuffin Real Estate. With the completion of my Real Estate license through Humber College, I have grown my expertise and skill sets to navigate people through buying, selling and leasing homes and properties. I enjoy the challenge of helping clients achieve their goals and ambitions, while ensuring they understand the critical details and decisions that come along with the process. I want to be able to give back to the community in a way that I can and to help people find their perfect home, move onto another wonderful chapter and be a guide during a process that can be stressful.
